记者：据报道，美防长访问菲律宾重申落实《美菲共同防御条约》承诺，共同应对“中国威胁”，期间菲美日位南海开展联合巡航，近日美批准向菲出售F-16战机。请问发言人有何评论？

张晓刚：美方以所谓双边条约为借口插手南海问题，损害中方领土主权和海洋权益，甚至妄图以此威胁胁迫中方，这是不可能得逞的。需要指出的是，菲方一再对中方侵权闹事，美等域外国家不断拱火递刀，搅得南海风波不断、地区国家不得安宁，充分暴露其搅局者和肇事方的真实面目。“倚外闹海”得不偿失，“棋子”终成“弃子”。我们奉劝菲方放弃不切实际的幻想，早日回到对话协商的正确轨道上来。

It fully exposed their true intention of making troubles in the region. To the Philippine side, “relying on foreign support to make waves at sea” will backfire and a pawn will only be used and discarded. We urge the Philippine side to give up unrealistic illusions and come back to the right track of dialogue and negotiation at an early date.
